ONE. MORE. WEEK.

I'm a little bewildered at how quickly this semester has gone by. HOW IS THERE ONLY A WEEK LEFT? 

Not that I'm complaining. I am more than happy to have a nice, month-long winter break. Hooray for sleeping in and hot chocolate and presents and my birthday! *happy dances* 

Anyway. In a week and one day, I will be done with my classes and work as well!

THAT'S RIGHT I BURNED IT TO THE GROUND.

No, actually I just quit cause I have a better job offer 8D

BUT I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO BURN IT DOWN. 

Some other news:

-Still working on getting that Pixar internship. Looks like it'll be some time till that all pans out but I'll sit here and wait patiently. 

-Battlefield 3 is actually kind of really cool. If I had any video gaming talent I would actually attempt to play instead of sit next to my boyfriend, watch him headshot everyone, and go 'THAT GUY OVER THERE IS AFTER YOU, GET HIM'. ..............OH WELL FIRE MISSILES  

-I ordered these books recently and they came in the mail today. I am so excited to start reading them: 

ONE MORE WEEK. ONE MORE WEEK AND THEN WE SHALL BE TOGETHER, HUNGER GAMES <3 I haven't even read them yet but I feel like I will love them. We'll see. 

-Also ordered these books, which are several years older but I still love to come back and read them again: 

DAMMIT PHILIP PULLMAN FINISH THE DUST BOOK OR I WILL COME TO YOUR HOME AND PUNCH YOUR FACE. *flips everything* 

But seriously those books are brilliant. I love them. 

-Almost done Christmas shopping, just a couple other people I still have to cross off my list and then I'll be finished with that. The books above and some other things I bought for myself are gifts to me. YAY. 

-Dentist appointment tomorrow morning. NOT. LOOKING. FORWARD. TO THIS. Its only a cleaning but I hate that terrible whirring sound the tools make, and that awful scraping feeling. *shudders* Plus there's a lot more metal in my mouth since the last time i had to go, and its bugging the hell outta me. DEATH TO THESE BRACES. DEATH. 

-This lovely lady right here cracks me up with her X-Men and Avengers comics. Check out her stuff for it is awesome. 

Welp, that's about it for now! Back to studying I go.

Running Errands and the Box of Paper Stuffs (I'm just procrastinating, really)

On to other stuffs!

Got the day off today which was nice. I was supposed to be working all day but the boss called and said I didn't have to come in. HIP THRUST, AWW YISS.

Instead I took care of things I kept putting off because I never have the time or am too lazy to do it.

I cleaned my room, which had become a mess because we painted our living room a few days ago and a lot of decorative objects and other random stuff that was lying around got moved into my bedroom. Thanks, mom. In the process of cleaning my room I found my jewelry box that I had brought back from U of I in May, and I only just realized that I have a lot of shit that I don't wear. Why do I own so many bracelets? I DON'T EVEN WEAR BRACELETS. They always fall off my tiny wrists.

After I cleaned my room I headed out to go get my back adjusted at the chiropractors (my X-ray scan looks like a vertical ~ lmao THIS IS NOT RIGHT) which as always made me feel much better. My brother got adjusted too and his back cracked so good, I flailed happily. "SYMPHONY OF CRACKLE" I have mentioned before that I love the popping sound of joints, haven't I? Yeah, I love that sound.

Anyway. I still had to stop at work even though I had the day off to pick up my check, but that's fine cause I get MONIES. *le twirl*

Dropped my brother off at the library afterwards and then I headed over to my shoe repair guy so he could  take a look at my favorite boots. They're really worn out at the heels cause I walked everywhere with them all of last year at U of I (they're really comfortable for heels and easy to put on and make my favorite clicking sound so I wore them always). And I also wore them in any kind of weather, so of course the leather is worn and needs polishing. I'll get them back nice and pretty again in about a week. Hooray!

Got home, organized my jewelry box that I found earlier, and then procrastinated some more by organizing my box of "paper stuffs". I keep my journal, my to-do notebooks, letters, bills, a pocket knife (clearly this isn't paper but shh) and my chocolate tin box in my paper stuffs box. My chocolate tin box carries smaller bits of paper I like to collect: little post-it notes from my boyfriend, train tickets, movie tickets, sports tickets, raffle tickets, receipts from places I have a fond memory of, small ripped out notebook doodles, etc. Its getting kinda difficult to shut each time I open it because of how many little tickets I've put in there. Most are movie tickets. I love going to the movies. Watching films on the big screen is the best.

I like to open it up from time to time and look at all the little bits of paper and think back on the events that took place on those days.

But for now its going back into the box of paper stuffs.

I should do my homework now so I don't end up doing it during the game. Ugh. DO NOT WANT. Oh well.

MYLO XYLOTO

I said a week or so ago on Twitter that I'd make a full post about Coldplay's latest album. Thanks to work and school and other stuff, I'm only just getting around to it. DAMN MY LIFE IS SO COOL *flails miserably* -.-

ANYWAY.

MYLO XYLOTO.

Cool stuff.

I've been listening to Coldplay ever since my dad gave me A Rush Of Blood To The Head when I was thirteen and I've loved em ever since. I listen to a broad range of music (almost anything except country, can't stand country music), but Coldplay's up there as one of my top favorites, next to: Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Nujabes, Metric, and anything Hans Zimmer and Yann Tiersen make, basically. In short, Coldplay puts me in a better mood. Except Fix You. That just makes me cry.

I don't know what it is about this song but somehow every time I listen to it its like something catches in my throat and then I just start crying. -15 cool points. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Back to Mylo:

UGH SO MUCH LOVE

^^^That was my reaction the first time I listened to it.

Then I listened to it again maybe fifty more times until I wore out the songs by the end of the week and picked out what I liked and didn't like about it. In general I enjoyed it much more than the last couple albums they put out. Viva La Vida and Prospeckt's March were alright, (UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT OOOO) but they just felt very different from what I was used to hearing from them. Couldn't really connect with the music. I mean Mylo is different too, but it's still got the Coldplay-ness in it, if that makes any sense.

Overall tone of the album felt very uplifting and... hopeful, I guess would be the appropriate word. I liked that. Favorite song off of it is Paradise. Lyrics speak out to me the most off so that's why I like it best. And the melody's good too.

Watch the video because it is great. 

I love music videos that are a kind of visual translation of the lyrics. They actually make sense and they're fun to watch. UNLIKE LADY GAGA'S VIDEOS THAT FUCKING MIND-BOGGLE THE SHIT OUTTA ME. GOD *flips everything* 

WHATEVER, MOVING ON.

Song I disliked most: Princess of China 

Why: Doesn't fit with the album to me. Also Rihanna's in it. Bleh. After listening to it a billion times though I guess I'm okay with it as a song on its own, but I still don't feel it fits in this album. When you listen from the beginning of the album and then get to this song the mood just fucking flips its shit and feels so different. Weird, but whatever I'M OVER IT 

Didn't really like Up In Flames much either. What the fuck's up with that beat in the background? I can't get it out of my head and then I don't even listen to the lyrics. NO GOUDA.

Okay, I think I dislike Up In Flames more than Princess of China after listening to it again. Yeah. Definitely.
